Samsung has been rumoured to be working on its new Android phablet smartphone called Galaxy Note 3 Lite, believed to be the affordable variant of the Galaxy Note 3. New rumour claims that the alleged Galaxy Note 3 Lite will have LTE support and might also come in a Green colour variant. Sammobile in a tweet revealed that the rumoured Galaxy Note 3 Lite will come with model number SM-N7505. Further, the tweet by Sammobile also claimed that the alleged device could see the light of the day in March 2014.
Earlier rumours have suggested that the Note 3 Lite will be showcased at Mobile World Congress event in 2014. The phone was also spotted at the Zauba import database with the model number N7505. According to the listing, it will feature a 5.49-inch 720p display. Core features areyet to be unveiled, but it is expected that Samsung will pack in a quad-core CPU, 8MP primary camera and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Dual SIM support is also expected as the device is primarily targeted at emerging markets, where the highly-priced Galaxy Note 3 is unaffordable for most of the consumers.
Samsung is also rumoured to be working on Lite editions of the Galaxy Grand and select devices in the Galaxy Tab Series, which may also make an appearance early this year. The smartphone is alleged to arrive in multiple colors, including green. The exact features are yet to be unveiled, except for the fact that Samsung currently tests 5.5- and 5.7-inch displays for the Galaxy Note 3 Lite, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
In addition, the South Korean handset maker is said to finalise a 5.68-inch display for the alleged Galaxy Note 3 Lite, while the screen technology was expected to be changed from Super AMOLED to LCD. There are no further rumours on other specifications of the Note 3 Lite.
Earlier reports have suggested that Samsung had already started mass-production of the rumoured Galaxy Note 3 Lite, and was targeting to reach 500,000 units by January 2014. Further, the report indicated that the South Korean has a target to reach 1,500,000 units of alleged Galaxy Note 3 Lite by February, and aims to reach 30 percent of Galaxy Note 3 sales.
The rumoured Galaxy Note 3 Lite is not the only Lite variant expected to launch soon, as Samsung is said to be working on the Galaxy Grand Lite, believed to be the affordable variant of the Galaxy Grand, apart from the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, said to be the most affordable tablet in Samsung’s line-up.
